Director General of the Sindh Food Authority (SFA), Agha Fakhar Hussain, emphasized the agency’s commitment to enhancing food safety through comprehensive training initiatives. Hussain revealed that the SFA has successfully provided training to 6000 food handlers to date, in collaboration with various stakeholders. Hussain made these remarks as the chief guest at a workshop organized by the Sindh Food Authority in partnership with an international retail chain.
The workshop, titled “Food Safety and Hygiene Training for Food Handlers,” took place at Beach Luxury Hotel in Karachi. Notable attendees included Director SFA Masood Bhutto, Dr. Ghufran, Chef Muqeem Soomro, senior operations head of Metro Mr. Thiru, Zohaib Jamil, Imran Shamim, Saulat Hussain, and others. Nearly 200 food handlers participated in the training workshop.
Addressing the audience, DG Agha Fakhar Hussain stressed the importance of training in capacity building across all sectors. He highlighted the significance of equipping food handlers with the necessary knowledge and skills to adhere to hygiene principles in food handling practices.
Hussain reiterated SFA’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to organize regular training workshops aimed at ensuring the delivery of safe and healthy food to the people of Sindh. As a gesture of recognition, DG Agha Fakhar Hussain distributed certificates to the participants who completed the training workshop, further incentivizing their dedication to upholding food safety standards.
