Diplomats, athletes, youth participate in mini-marathon organized by UAE embassy

A large number of diplomats, athletes, members of civil society and youth participated in the mini-marathon organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to celebrate the Golden Jubilee (50 years) of the bilateral relations between the UAE and Pakistan.
The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The event turned out to be a healthy and family-friendly activity. The mini-marathon ranging between 2 kilometers and 5 kilometers took place inside the Diplomatic Enclave.
Apart from the diplomatic community, Arab nationals including students and businessmen had come not only from Islamabad but other cities as well to participate in the event.
Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi welcomed the guests on the occasion and said that the Mini Marathon and remarkable participation from all walks of life reflected the longstanding brotherhood, partnerships, and shared values between the two brotherly countries.
Ambassador Zaabi also hailed the deep-rooted relations between two friendly countries, derived from the depth of Islamic brotherhood and geographical, cultural and historical bonds that evolved into a strategic partnership between the two countries and peoples over recent years.
He extended his gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for facilitating the Marathon and also to the partners including Gerry’s, Sheikh Zayed International Academy, Bank Al Falah, DP World for sponsoring this event.
The UAE Embassy is organizing a number of social and cultural activities to celebrate the golden jubilee of PAK- UAE relations this year.
