As many as 19 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 5,497 and 881 new cases emerged when 16,985 tests were conducted.
This was stated by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Friday. He added that 19 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 5,497 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Shah said that 16,985 samples were tested which detected 881 cases that constituted 5.2 percent current detection rate.
He added that so far 4,537,893 tests have been conducted against which 339,251 cases were diagnosed, of them 92.5 percent or 313,868 patients have recovered, including 502 overnight.
The CM said that currently 19,886 patients were under treatment, of them 19,222 were in home isolation, 60 at isolation centers and 604 at different hospitals.
He added that the condition of 559 patients was stated to be critical, including 41 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 881 new cases, 454 have been detected from Karachi, including 278 from East, 73 Central, 53 Malir, 43 Korangi.
