Fortunately no death stemming from Coronavirus reported on Wednesday, however 306 new cases emerged when 9,995 tests were conducted.
This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here from CM House. Shah said that fortunately no death was reported and COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 8,091 that constituted 1.4 percent death rate.
Shah said that 9,995 samples were tested which detected 306 cases that constituted 3 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 8,073,465 tests have been conducted against which 569,681 cases were diagnosed, of them 97 percent or 552,368 patients have recovered, including 170 overnight.
The CM said that currently 9,222 patients were under treatment; of them 9,140 were in home isolation, 4 at isolation centers and 78 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 77 patients was stated to be critical, including 4 shifted to ventilators. According to the statement, out of 306 new cases, 92 have been detected from Karachi.
According to district wise statistics, Karachi South 45, Hyderabad 38, Malir 26, Thatto 24, Sujawal 20, Jamshoro, Nawab Shah and Noushehro Feroz 16 each, Larkano 14, Karachi East 13, Dadu 10, Ghotki 9, Sanghar 8, Korangi, Matiari and Shikarpur 7 each, Sukkur and Umarkot 6 each, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan 4 each, Tando Allahyar, Jacobabad and Mirpurkhas 3 each and Karachi Central one each new covid cases reported.
The report states that with regard to vaccination, in the last 24 hours, 72,315 covid vaccines have been given, while 48,748,318 or 88.73% vaccines have been vaccinated till March 16, 2022.
