Owing to heavy fog in the provincial metropolis, air operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport was suspended to avoid any untoward incidents.
As per reports, due to the suspension of air operations, 19 domestic and international flights were cancelled, while 16 flights were delayed.
The cancelled flights include: Dubai-bound flight number 410 of a private airline, Riyadh-bound flight number 318, flight number 342 going to Najaf, flight 715 to Istanbul, and flight 244 to Abu Dhabi.
Flight 430 to Abu Dhabi and flight 132 to Kuala Lumpur have also been cancelled due to heavy fog.
Earlier this month, flight operations at Lahore Airport were affected due to heavy fog as visibility on the runway was reduced to less than 800 meters.
According to the Met office, similar weather conditions will prevail for the next 24 hours.
According to a Motorway police spokesman, M-3 from Lahore to Abdul Hakeem and M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Sham Kot have been closed. Similarly, M-5 from Multan to Sukkur has also been closed.
The spokesman has advised the commuters to seek information from Helpline 130 prior to travelling on these sections of the motorway.
The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving at very slow speed as the visibility was dropped to zero due to dense fog. The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
