Since the beginning of the monsoon rains (mid-June), Pakistan has been affected by floods, landslides, flash floods, and severe weather-related incidents, which have resulted in a humanitarian emergency.
According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), at least 1,696 people have died so far due to floods across the country.
As per NDMA report, a total of 759 people died in Sindh, 308 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 336 in Balochistan, 221 in Punjab, 48 in Azad Kashmir and 23 in Gilgit-Baltistan while 12,867 persons have been injured.—NNI
