The district police, in their on-going operations against lawbreakers, conducted raids in different areas and rounded up 14 drug peddlers, bootleggers, illegal weapon holders and other criminals besides seizing over 1,585 grams hashish, six liters liquor, Rs 30,000 in cash, mobile phones, a motorcycle, five 30-bore pistols and other items from their possession, said a press release issued by CPO office on Thursday.
According to the details, Ratta Amral police arrested a two-member dacoit gang, including its ringleader and recovered Rs 30,000 cash, mobile phones, a motorcycle, and a pistol from their possession. The suspected criminals have been identified as Shah Sawar and Fahad.
Similarly, Dhamial and Kalar Syedan police teams rounded up four suspects named as Shabbir, Junaid, Owais and Khalil. They were allegedly involved in decanting gas in cylinders illegal.
Pirwadhai, Airport, Sadiqabad and Civil Lines police held Sanaullah, Khurram, Sajid and Moeen and recovered 1,585 grams hashish, six liters liquor and two bottles of liquor. Pirwadhai, Waris Khan, Saddar Wah, and Kahuta police netted Qasim, Hamza, Shahid, and Nadeem for having four 30-bore pistols and ammunition.
Furthermore,the same district police, under their on-going campaign against professional beggars, rounded up 31.
Separate cases have been registered against them under the relevant sections of the laws and further investigations were underway till the filing of this report.
