Increasing inflation is behind the “defeat” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local-bodies elections, admitted adviser to CM KP Shaukat Yousafzai on Monday.
Talking to newsmen outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly before the Senate election on the vacant seat from the province, Shaukat Yousafzai said Prime Minister Imran Khan is aware of increasing inflation.
“Winning and defeat is part of life, we are facing tough times due to rocketing inflation,” he said. Replying to a question, he said despite being in the power, the PTI government of KP did not rig the polls.
He said that the government trying hard to control the inflation and the situation will be stable within two to three months.
The counting of votes in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for local government elections is underway.—APP
