MUMBAI –  Renowned Indian music producer, rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has revealed that he gained knowledge about Islam from religious scholars and Sufi saints.

Recently, Yo Yo Honey Singh gave an exclusive interview to an Indian journalist where he openly discussed his understanding of Islamic teachings.

Honey Singh stated, “In 2007, I moved to the city of Mohali in Punjab. At that time, I was not famous, just an ordinary music producer whom nobody knew.”

He continued, “After moving to Mohali, I had the opportunity to meet some religious figures who introduced me to the basics of Islam. Gradually, I became interested in learning more about the religion, as I had many questions that I wanted answers to.”

The Indian singer explained, “Through those religious scholars and Sufi saints, I gained extensive knowledge about Islam. During this time, I learned about Hazrat Musa, Hazrat Isa (Peace Be Upon Them), as well as Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”

Honey Singh said, “I used to listen to those scholars with great attention and focus. They told me about the role of Hazrat Isa as described in  (holy) Quran.”

He added, “I would often ask them questions such as ‘Why is this so?’ or ‘How did this happen?’ and they would always answer my queries.”

The singer admitted, “After gaining fame and wealth post-2012, instead of thanking God, I began to follow dark, negative influences. That was the biggest mistake of my life.”

He further stated, “Because of this mistake, everything fell apart—my life, my health, and my career. But after recovering from my illness, I made a comeback in 2018, and now I only believe in God.”
