Writers, painters two gifts of nature having best means of expressions

Assistant Commissioner Coordination Rawalpindi Shabana Nazir has said that the writers and painters are two such gifts of nature who have the best means of expression.

She stated this while speaking as chief guest of the divisional level competitions of first Punjab Painting Competition 2024 held here at Arts Council in line with directions of Director General Punjab Arts Council Syed Bilal Haider. The Winners of district level painting competitions of Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree and Rawalpindi participated in the divisional competition.

Addressing the participants, Shabana Nazir said that the writer expresses by writing and he/she writes with his blood and emotions. But on the other hand, the painter has another means of expressing nature through colors. The painter reflects nature, emotions, reality of society with the help of different colors. She said that the painter was a personality that brings people closeness and becomes a source of expression of nature. She also congratulated the position holder children.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director Muhammad Shakoor said that the passion for creation is in human nature from eternity, due to which all these creations take place. Pakistani painters are full of qualities of confidence, conviction and awareness in their work, he added.

He said, “Our youth is transferring the themes of his surroundings to the canvas. This art is the medium of expression of our attitudes. The aim of the painting competition is to foster an atmosphere of creative growth among the youth. The platform of Punjab Arts Council is a means to expose the artists and the audience to the world of art.”

Ahmed Habib, Saima Amir, Zarar Haider Babri, performed the duties of judges in the competition. Sara Hafeez, Abdul Hadi and Aymen Azmat Butt won the first, second and third position respectively in Rawalpindi division competitions.

At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest distributed cheque and appreciation certificates among the position holders, while the provincial level competition will be held at Open Air Theater Lahore tomorrow (March 8).
