Women should dress up decently in church
The dress code for all Christian women is to dress up modestly at all times.This is what the Holy Bible teaches us.
A few weeks back, I was stunned by what I saw in a church.I noticed a young woman with a very short skirt and a low-neck blouse.She has been a member of the choir for quite some time.
And I later came to know that she has been warned by the parish priest over her indecent dressings.
But that morning, I was dumbfounded.How could someone put on that kind of clothes and enter the church?
Her skirt was so short that more than half of her thighs were visible and her boobs with the kind of blouse she wore, could be seen.
Of course, there are people in the congregation that would be distracted.And surprisingly, she wasn’t even concerned about her immoral clothing.But that brings the next conversation.What does the Holy Bible say about dress code?
The truth is, God wants us, males and females, to dress modestly all the time.And thankfully, there are Bible verses about dress codes that we can learn from.
These scriptures teach us to dress modestly all the time.We are children of the light, and therefore, everything about us must display that.
“A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man must wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this” (Deuteronomy 22:5).
“I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God” (1 Timothy 2:9-10).
“Do you not know that your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought at a price.Therefore honour God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh” (Romans 13:14).
The church is the house of God and not a fashion centre.It is okay to dress up indecently with revealing clothes during parties, weddings and other social gatherings.
No one will question you there.But why dress up indecently with revealing clothes and sexy outfits in church?
Remember, Jesus Christ is fully present in the Holy Eucharist.He does not want us to dress up indecently in sexy outfits and revealing clothes when the Mass is being celebrated.
Satan, who never sleeps, is using women to tempt men who are holy.Modest dressing isn’t just for when you go to church; its how one dresses up every day.
The worldly women may have taught you that whenever you leave the house, you have to prepare for a fashion show, one that will show off what you have and get attention from others.
While there is nothing wrong with taking care of your looks, be wary of crossing the line and inviting lust from men instead.
