Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the first phase Punjab motorcycle scheme 2024 under which 20,000 bikes will be distributed among students of degree colleges and universities.
The government has collaborated with the Bank of Punjab to provide 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes under the interest free installment plans.
Initially students from Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi and Lahore can apply for the Punjab motorcycle scheme by April 29 and Students can apply by clicking the following link.
The financing for electric Bikes under the scheme is limited up to Rs250,000 and that for Petrol Bike is limited up to Rs150,000.
If any student chooses a Bike higher than the above given prices, then upon being declared successful by BOP, he/she shall have to pay the additional cost of the Bike upfront to the BOP. The Punjab Government shall not cover any price higher than what has been mentioned above. The Bike shall have to be selected only from amongst the options available on the web-portal.
Can Female Student Apply for the Petrol Bike?
Among various other queries, female students want to know whether they are able to apply for the petrol bike under the Punjab motorcycle scheme.
Information available on official website shows female students can apply for both E-Bikes and P-Bikes. Both Scootie and Motorbike versions are available.
Similarly, male students can also apply for both type of motorcycles.
