WCB completes cleanliness operation

The Walton Cantonment Board (WCB) successfully completed the three days Eidul Azha cleanliness and sanitation operation in the area.

According to officials, the Walton Cantonment was divided into seven sectors for better cleanliness and sanitation operation in which five sanitary inspectors, eight sanitary supervisors, 12 sanitary mates, 1,270 sanitary workers and 338 special vehicles took part.

The WCB set up a control room at its office whereas 12 complaint centres were established to resolve public issues promptly.

The WCB distributed about 100,000 biodegradable plastic bags to residents of the area for effective disposal of animals waste and offals.

Station Commander Brigadier Sajid Muzaffer and WCB CEO Syed Irfan Ali Rizvi monitored the cleanliness operation through visits to different areas of the board.

The WCB spokesperson informed that a total of 8,494 tons of animals waste and remains were disposed off during the three days of Eidul Azha, adding that 3,978 tons of garbage was removed on the first day of Eid, 3016 tons on the second day while 1,500 tons of garbage was disposed of on the third day.
