The final of the second Mari Petroleum Azadi Cup was played between Pakistan Wapda and Pakistan Mari Petroleum in which Pakistan Wapda defeated Mari Petroleum by 3 goals to 2 and won the trophy of the second Mari Petroleum Azadi Cup.
From Pakistan WAPDA, Umar Bhutta, Arshad and Salman Razzak played a vital role in their team’s victory by scoring one goal while from Mari Petroleum Sufyan Khan and Arbaaz Ahmed scored one goal each to watch the final match. A large number of hockey fans were present in the stadium
A colorful prize distribution ceremony was also organized at the end of the final match. Secretary General Pakistan Hockey Federation Syed Haider Hussain, former Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly Syeda Shehla Raza specially attended to watch today’s match while tournament director. Olympian Nasir Ali, Olympian Shahnaz Shaikh, Shakeel Abbasi were also present at the ground.
At the end of the final match, a colorful prize distribution ceremony was also organized. Chairman of Fuji Group of Companies Waqar Ahmed Malik (Star of Imtiaz) was the chief guest of the ceremony. WAPDA was given a trophy and a cash prize of two million rupees, while the Mari Petroleum team was given a cash prize of fifteen million rupees along with the runners-up trophy.
In his brief speech, MD Mari Petroleum Faheem Haider said that Mari Petroleum Company will continue to play its full role in the development and promotion of the national sport of hockey in collaboration with the Pakistan Hockey Federation.
