Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani has said that the protesting headmasters are well aware of the court decisions and they know that we want to make them permanent but could not do so due to the court decisions.

He urged the protesting teachers to go at their respective schools and end protest. The minister expressed these views in a video statement released on Tuesday “I urge all these protesting headmasters to go to their respective schools and do their duty and on the other hand to follow their cases in the courts.

”He said the Sindh government has requested the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court to form a bench on the decision of the SHC benches of Karachi and Hyderabad or make a decision on them.

These headmasters have also approached the Supreme Court and if any decision comes from there, we assure full implementation on it.

Ghani said that Sindh government was ready to make all these headmasters permanent after passing IBA test but due to court decisions neither Sindh cabinet nor Sindh government can do so.

In his statement, the Minister said that  for several days now, 957 headmasters who have passed the IBA test have been protesting outside the Sindh Assembly to be made permanent.

He said that he and Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah had met their delegation and he himself was well aware of the situation.

He said that these headmasters were recruited on contract basis in 2017 by taking IBA test and they are all capable and good headmasters. He said that some of the 957 teachers were not recruited.

They went to the Sindh High Court and filed a petition in the Sindh High Court alleging that the recruitments were wrong.

In 2018, the Karachi Bench of the Hon’ble Sindh High Court issued an order directing the Chief Secretary Sindh to scrutinize the recruits and submit a report within two months.

Ghani said that we are bound to implement the court decisions whether it is of Karachi Bench or Hyderabad Bench.
