Future at stake

Human development is directly related to the progress of the region. And it is one of the most top priorities and utmost responsibility of every state to provide proper and quality of education, healthcare facilities and basic necessities of life to the individuals.

However, Badin is categorized in one of those districts of Sindh where higher education is merely a dream and achieved only by a few, because of very low education literacy rate of this district.

It is all due to lack of government’s sincerity and negligence of elected leaders towards this district for long.

And resultantly, it has given birth to so many other social issues including education, healthcare and infrastructure development.

Amongst all, the most major responsibility which lies on the shoulder of the government is education and healthcare.

Since Badin is surrounded by so many rural villages and small towns, which lag behind in education, health and basic necessities at a large scale. The people of Badin are dying with hopes to see their city prosper.

I appeal to the Government of Sindh, including elected leaders of Badin, to discharge their responsibility for the development of this city.

Water shortage

According to the (IMF), Pakistan ranked third among the countries facing severe water shortage.

In May 2018, (PCRWR) announced that by 2025, there will be very little or no clean water available in the country. Currently, only 20% of the country’s population has access to clean drinking water.

The remaining 80% population depends on polluted water primarily contaminated by sewerage and secondarily by fertilizer, pesticides and industrial.

Such water pollution is responsible for approximately 80% of all diseases and 30% of deaths.

In Pakistan, approximately 60 million people are at risk of being affected by high concentration of arsenic in drinking water.

Taking into consideration the drought-hit death of approximately 1832 children in the last four years, drying lakes, rivers, lowering water tables, excessive use of water, lack of storage mechanism, population explosion and climatic change warrant serious attention.

How can we control this situation; there is only one way that we all, as a nation, need to work together for this as in other countries they use water very carefully.

They do not waste water because they know the importance so we also need to adopt those methods and the government needs to pay urgent and serious attention to water conservation and minimizing water pollution to avoid serious consequences in the form of drought, famine, internal migration and loss of biodiversity.

Economic problem of Zimbabwe

It sad that Zimbabweans have no capacity to join the rest of the world to celebrate International Happiness Day because of multiple problems faced by the country.

The Zimbabwean government has failed to improve the living standards of Zimbabweans and many citizens have migrated to other countries in search of better living standards.

Zimbabweans are experiencing extreme poverty and cannot even be happy on International Happiness day because they are failing to have decent meals, proper clothing and their disposable income cannot buy anything.

Happiness in Zimbabwe has been eroded by human rights abuses, corruption and poor governance which have caused many problems.

The world should condemn the president of Zimbabwe Emmerson for failing to bring happiness after the ousting of Mugabe.
