India, a banana republic

Why is Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal and the Kolkata police shielding the rapists who had raped and murdered the interim medical student of R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9? Anyone with good political connections and/or money can get away with even the most serious crime they have committed. India is a banana republic where anyone can get away if they have the money and political connections.

In our country, rapists keep roaming around freely, as they have no fear of the law. Until our country doesn’t start taking this matter seriously, our women will never be safe. We just celebrated our 78th Independence Day on August 15, but are our women really safe? What if Mamata Banerjee’s daughter had been raped and killed? Would she still keep quiet?

War in Gaza

Mercy Corps has posted on the Face book and appealed the world to raise voice to end the war in Gaza for the sake of humanity. I agree with them that the War on Gaza must immediately end. It is absolutely inhumane to kill innocent civilians.

The question is not of religion, it is a human issue. It must not be given the color of religious extremism or Zionism. Some Jews are referring from the Torah that they have been promised to establish the Jewish state Israel and it is their religious duty to kill the Muslims to attain the objective.

It is absolutely wrong concept. It is the belief of the Zionists. On the other hand, the moderate Jews say that the establishment of the Jewish state is not the concept of the Torah. They abstain from politics. Hence, there is ideological difference amongst them. Besides, the claim of the Zionists, one question arises that have they been ordered or ordained by Moses to kill the non- Jews to establish the Jewish state?

Not at all. Then under which scriptural law they are mercilessly killing the civilians of Gaza? The lovers of humanity must raise their voice against the genocide of the innocent civilians of Gaza. The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu is playing the card of religious fanaticism and has political intentions. America should intervene to resolve the Middle East conflict in the light of UN resolution and pressurize Israel to accept and implement UN resolution which grants Two States Formula.

The only solution of the conflict. Israel is dragging the whole world to Third World War and that will be very catastrophic and end of the world as in the words of great British philosopher who in his book titled” Has Man a Future”, wrote that Third World War will be a nuclear war and that will be the end of the world. I, seriously and sincerely urge to all nations to intervene and raise their voice to end the Gaza war, before the end of the world.

Nepotism in jobs

Nepotism, the practice of favouring relatives or close associates, is increasingly prevalent in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, where it has severely compromised the integrity of job placements. The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) is notorious for allegedly demanding bribes, even from candidates who have passed the required tests and interviews. My brother, despite performing well in both, was unjustly denied the position of Agriculture Officer due to nepotism and an inability to pay a bribe.

His exclusion from the final selection highlights a broader issue: when institutions like the SPSC prioritize financial gain over merit, it undermines the aspirations of hardworking individuals, especially those from poor and middle-class backgrounds, who are already at a disadvantage. I earnestly appeal to higher-ranking, honest officials to address this corruption, ensuring that jobs are awarded based on merit and the rights of deserving candidates are upheld.
