Unemployment

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding current state of unemployment in the country, particularly challenges faced by individuals who diligently apply for jobs online but find themselves continuously overlooked in favour of candidates with references.

In today’s digital age, the internet has become the primary platform for job applications. However, despite the ease of access it provides, this method of application has led to a troubling trend where individuals are often disregarded in favour of those with personal or professional connections to the hiring company. This practice not only undermines the principles of fair competition but also diminishes the value of individuals’ qualifications, skills, and experiences. Many deserving candidates, who have spent years, honing their skills and gaining relevant education, are left feeling defeated and undervalued in the face of nepotism and favouritism.

It is disheartening to see that merit seems to have taken a back seat to personal connections. It is high time that we address this issue and strive for a more equitable hiring process that considers individuals based on their qualifications, skill and experiences rather than who they know. Employment should be based on merit, not on who you know. Let us work together to create a system where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed based on merit.

Democracy and politics

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding prevailing political situation in our country. Recent events have raised serious questions about stability and democratic process of our nation. Political infighting among various factions has led to a state of chaos and uncertainty. This not only undermines people’s trust in their government but also hampers progress and development.

Furthermore, the erosion of democratic norms and institutions is alarming. The suppression of dissenting voices, curtailment of press freedom and disregard for rule of law threaten the very foundations of democracy. It is imperative that we uphold principles of democracy and ensure that rights and liberties of all citizens are protected. Moreover, economic challenges facing Pakistan cannot be ignored amidst the political turmoil. In order to address issues such as poverty, unemployment and inflation it is crucial that government focuses on implementing sound economic policies and fostering an environment conducive to investment and growth.

As citizens, we have a responsibility to hold our leaders accountable and demand transparency, accountability, and good governance. I urge all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society organisations and media to work towards restoring stability and democracy in Pakistan. I call upon the government to prioritise interests of the people and work towards resolving current political crisis through dialogue and democratic means. Only through unity and collaboration can we overcome the challenges facing our nation and build a better future for generations to come.

Vaping is dangerous

Lipoid pneumonia is a rare condition caused by inhaling lipids or fatty substances. Vaping oils or e-liquids that contain lipids can potentially contribute to lipoid pneumonia. If you have concerns, consult with a healthcare professional. In the context of vaping, it has been associated with inhaling vaporized oils or lipid-based substances present in certain e-cigarettes or vaping products. This can lead to the accumulation of lipids in the lungs, causing inflammation and respiratory issues.

It’s important to note that not all vaping products are linked to lipoid pneumonia, and more research is needed to fully understand relationship between specific substances and this condition. However, there has been an outbreak of lung injuries and deaths associated with vaping. In February 2020-2023 the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed 2,807 cases of vaping use associated with lung injury and 68 deaths attributed to that condition. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as coughing, chest pain or difficulty breathing after vaping should seek prompt medical attention. Early detection and intervention is crucial in managing lipoid pneumonia and preventing its progression.

farmers

Just like farmers protesting in Europe and elsewhere in the world, the farmers in India too are protesting for same reasons. Sad, that Indian Government is treating them like criminals and spreading false propaganda against them.
