Vicious Israel in Palestine
Israel is playing a barbarous and inhumane role in Gaza, employing missiles, rockets and other potentially harmful weapons on millions of innocent Palestinians. Thousands of children, women, senior citizens and others have lost their lives or been badly injured. Israel’s actions have also resulted in the deprivation of electricity, food, water, medicine and other essential life-sustaining resources for the people of Gaza. Furthermore, Israel has restricted access to the area, preventing international aid and media organizations from providing assistance or coverage.
These actions by Israel are in violation of the principles of war and international law, yet no global organization has intervened to stop these atrocities. The role of the superpower America is perceived as partial, as it provides legal support, financial assistance and war material to Israel. America’s overt/covert support for Israel and its warnings to Muslim countries, particularly Iran and Syria, not to even express sympathy for innocent Palestinians, are clear indications of bias on the part of the USA.
The current situation has become a bone of contention for international organizations such as the UNO, OIC, Arab League, and others. They face significant challenges in resisting Israel’s viciousness, assertiveness and savageness due to the unwavering support of the USA.
The solution to the conflict lies in promoting dialogue, understanding and negotiations between the parties involved, with the active engagement of international organizations to mediate and foster a peaceful resolution. Addressing the root causes of the conflict, ensuring humanitarian aid reaches Gaza and encouraging a fair and balanced approach from influential nations, particularly the USA, are essential components of a comprehensive solution.

Empowering youth
I am writing to emphasize a critical issue that our city, Karachi, faces – the challenge of youth unemployment and the need for robust skill development programs. It’s no secret that Karachi is home to a significant young population with immense potential. However, this potential often goes untapped due to a lack of employment opportunities and the disconnect between the skills possessed by our youths and the demands of the job market.
The consequences of youth unemployment extend beyond economic concerns; they encompass social and psychological implications as well. When young individuals are unable to find meaningful work, it can lead to frustration, disillusionment and even social unrest. To address this challenge, we need to invest in comprehensive skill development programs tailored to the needs of our youths. These programs should equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience required to secure gainful employment or embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, it is vital to foster collaboration between educational institutions, government agencies and the private sector to create a conducive ecosystem for skill development. Such collaboration can lead to apprenticeship opportunities, vocational training and mentorship programs that bridge the gap between education and employment. By empowering Karachi’s youths with the skills they need to thrive, we not only enhance their individual prospects but also contribute to the overall socio-economic development of our city. I urge the authorities to prioritize and support initiatives that address youth unemployment and promote skill development.

Kohlu subdivision
In the heartlands of Kohlu District, Baluchistan, amidst the challenges of socio-economic disparity, a remarkable transformation is underway. Kohlu Subdivision, once overshadowed by adversity, has emerged triumphant, setting a new paradigm for progress. The remarkable monthly private recovery, soaring from a modest 3.3 million in September 2022 to an astounding 14.3 million in September 2023, represents a monumental 129% recovery.
This achievement, made possible through the dedicated collaboration of the Superintending Engineer Loralai Circle, the Executive Engineer Loralai Division, and the Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) Kohlu, alongside the vigilance of security agencies, paints a vivid picture of resilience and collective effort.
The success of Kohlu Subdivision is not just a local triumph; it resonates far beyond the district borders. The Loralai Circle’s overall recovery rate of 152% stands as a testament to the effectiveness of their joint initiatives, placing Loralai Circle at the pinnacle among all QESCO Circles.
However, challenges persist in the form of direct connections, diminishing recovery potential of QESCO. Yet, the unwavering determination of SDO Kohlu, supported by SE and XEN Loralai, is poised to eliminate these illicit practices. Their shared commitment to fairness, integrity, and an equitable distribution of resources fuels their efforts to eradicate hooks and illegal connections.
Kohlu Subdivision’s journey serves as a beacon of hope, illuminating path towards recovery and for the betterment of QESCO Company. It reminds us all that with strong leadership, community engagement, and unwavering determination, any challenge can be overcome. The remarkable recovery is not just a local achievement; it’s a testament to power of collective will in fostering positive change and progress.

Crippling disease
Just a day after a nationwide polio campaign started, a third case was reported in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The region has been facing ongoing polio issues, and it’s one of the seven districts in southern KP where polio is still a problem. The eradication of polio is a formidable task that requires urgent attention. Health workers face significant challenges in reaching affected areas, often encountering life-threatening attacks. Therefore, there is a pressing need to emphasize and advocate for the eradication of the poliovirus to achieve a polio-free Pakistan.
