Sindh caretaker government has directed the provincial police chief to not appoint under-training officers at any police station till the completion of their training.

According to officials, the directives were issued after an inquiry against some under-training police officers, including DSPs, found some irregularities.

They said that on the instruction of the provincial government to probe into complaints about the under-training officers, the inquiry was marked to DIG Crime and Investigation Amir Farooqi.

The inquiry found the allegations true and recommended to remove such officers from their incumbent posts, while sending them back to their training institutes. Following the report, the Additional IG Karachi KhadimHussain Rind ordered removal of the DSPs and other under-training officers from police stations.

The order read: “In pursuance of the recommendations of the inquiry conducted by DIG Crime and Investigation Branch Sindh, Karachi, all executive staff and officers working as Incharge Legal Branch in any zone, district or unit of Karachi Police are hereby removed immediately from their postings”.
