Two-month summer vacations announced

Punjab government has announced two months summer vacation for schools across the province starting from June 1, to July 31, a notification in this effect was issued on Thursday by the Punjab School Education Department.

According to a notification issued in this regard, the schools will observe two months summer vacations from June 1 to July 31. The Education department has also directed all the private schools to keep the timings of their schools till 11:00am for the remaining days of this month i.e. from May 27 to May 31.

The government schools children will get the homework and books during the summer vacations. The early summer vacations have been announced due to the current heatwave that has gripped the country. Sources in the education department said that certain private schools owners have started another business by alluring parents in the name of Summer Camp which will start immediately after the start of Summer vacations.

The Private schools will reportedly charge Rs. 4000 to 10000 from every students under cover of Summer Camp. But education department Authorities said that they would monitor the situation and they would not allow any private school to hold summer camp since government was very concerned about the recent heat waive and they would never allow private schools to call student during scorching heat of June.
