In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid glowing tributes to noted liberation leader and founding member of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Sofi Muhammad Akbar, on his 36th death anniversary. According to Kashmir Media Service, Sofi Muhammad Akbar had passed away on this day in 1987.
The APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Sofi Akbar was a selfless leader who till his death remained committed to the right to self-determination demand as promised to the people of Jammu Kashmir by the United Nations.
The spokesman reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue Sofi Akbar’s mission with full vigour and valour till its logical conclusion.—KMS
