The police thwarted a major disaster when it effectively repulsed terrorists’ attack on a police Check post in D I Khan Sunday late night.
Reports say a group of terrorists ambushed Chowanda police check-post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district Sunday late with most sophisticated weapons yet the alert Jawaans of the law enforcing agency acted swiftly and retaliated the attack forcing the militants flee without inflicting any loss.
As the terrorism continued to hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it may be recalled, two cops had embraced martyrdom as terrorists attacked Police Lines in Tank district of D I Khan Khyber in early hours of the morning on Friday while in one of the bloodiest clash between the security forces and the insurgents in the Dera Ismail Khan around two dozen men in uniform were martyred while 27 terrorists were gunned down in multiple operations on wee hours Tuesday last.
In the fresh incident the surveillance camera footage of the Chowanda check-post attack shows ten terrorists can be seen in the video fleeing due to the retaliatory firing of the law enforcers who acted promptly. The cops guarding the post remained unhurt in the terrorist’s firing.
“The incident taking place around 10 in the night could have turned into a tragedy had the police not acted against it timely”. A senior Police officer said adding no loss of life took place because of the terrorist’s firing. The security forces are reported to have kicked off a search operation for the culprits responsible for the check post attack yet they remained at large.
