WHILST our security forces have successfully carried out anti-terrorism operations and destroyed to a great extent the terrorist safe havens but the matter of concern is that these terrorists are now regrouping in neighbouring Afghanistan.
According to latest reports, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has merged with its splinter groups Jamaatul Ahrar (JUA) and Hizbul Ahrar (JUA) in Afghanistan. Their sole objective is to restart terrorist activity against Pakistan while simultaneously sabotaging efforts to restore peace and stability in its war ravaged neighbour. Pakistan has repeatedly raised the matter with the Afghan authorities to take action against the terrorist groups which pose threat to both the countries but all this has fallen on deaf ears. The fact of the matter is that RAW is backing the terrorist groups in Afghanistan to stoke instability and anarchy in Pakistan. This is not an allegation but something which has also been endorsed in a report presented to the UN Security Council which states that the TTP is operating in Afghanistan with the Indian support. United Nations Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team had also assessed that foreign terrorist fighters from India are travelling to Afghanistan to join the ISIL-Khorasan (ISIL-K). In recent times there has also been a surge in terrorist attacks in strategically located Balochistan province. Pakistan has always desired peace and stability in Afghanistan and this is the reason that today the warring parties there have reached close to commencing intra-Afghan dialogue but we have no doubt in saying that these negotiations will never succeed until and unless the Afghan authorities stops abetting the terrorist groups such as the TTP and take decisive action against them. It is also for the international community especially the United States to take notice of the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and push its government to take action against them. These terrorist groups backed by India should not be given any space and they must be crushed as they pose threat to the peace and stability of the whole region.
