Super food crop ‘Quinoa’ introduced in Sindh by agri experts

Climate change is big threat to the agriculture of province which affecting crop yields due to weather variability, rising temperature, shrinking winter, soil degradation, scarcity of water, seawater intrusion etc.
It needs to be addressed through different research options, including introduction of new crops and new production technologies. In this regard a well-known agriculture expert Mr. Mustafa Nangraj has started research on Quinoa crop and conducted an academic research on this crop to develop quinoa crop production technology for Sindh province of Pakistan. While talking with this inscriber, Mr. Mustafa Nangraj mentioned that ‘Quinoa’ is a native crop of the Andean region and has been cultivated in the region for around 7000 years.
It is of all the new-world crops, Chenopodium quinoa wild and commonly known as ‘quinoa’, is one of the most underutilized, it gives superb seed protein composition and yield potential too.
