QUETTA – A motorbike-borne suicide bomber rammed into a Balochistan Constabulary truck in Bolan, killing at least nine troops and wounding over dozen.
Balochistan’s Kachhi district DC briefed the media about the attack in the Kambri Bridge area of the region, nearly 150km east of the provincial capital.
Casualties are expected to grow further as some of the injured are in serious condition after powerful explosion, he said.
The truck turned turtle after the blast. Constabulary troops were coming back from a cattle show where they were deployed for security.
Soon after the incident, security forces rushed to the area and an emergency was declared at hospitals in Quetta and other cities. The exact details of the blast are yet to be ascertained after a detailed investigation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Arif Alvi strongly condemned the suicide attack on the personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary in Sibi. The top civil leaders paid tribute to the valour of the country’s martyred troops and prayed for departed souls.
The country’s sparsely populated region saw Indian-backed insurgency while attacks on security personnel escalated in recent times. The attack on Balochistan Constabulary was the third major attack on security personnel in recent times as several people were killed last month after militants stormed the police headquarters in Karachi.
In the first month of 2023, more than 100 police personnel were martyred after a suicide bomb rocked Peshawar Police Headquarters.
