LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 174 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different areas of Lahore on Tuesday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 29 businesses in Allama Iqbal Town, 35 in New Muslim town and Gujjar Pura, 36 in Faisal Town, Gulberg and Garden Town, and 74 on Johar Town’s Khayaban-e-Firdousi for illegal commercial use and not paying commercialization fees.
The sealed premises include Step Prep by PGC, The Educators, American Lycetuff, Khan Shinwari Hujra, Burger Hut, Al-Madina Marquee, MSK Hospital, Drink Station, GK Lounge, pharmacy, bakers, food outlets, grocery stores, showrooms, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, violation of bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
