SSWMB garbage collection points closed as Eid ends

Collection points made for offal of sacrificial animals under the management of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) were closed by Saturday night and sprayed with lime.

The collection points were set up on the instructions of MD Sindh Solid Waste Management Board ZubairChanna.

A total of 81,345 thousand tons of garbage was shifted to the landfill sites during the Eid-ul-Adha operation while the garbage was safely buried in trenches on the three days of Eid.

A total of 1,907 complaints were received in three days at the Command and Control and Grievance Centers set up in all the districts.

90% of these grievances have been resolved while further work is underway to collect garbage from animal remains and areas. All supervisors have been directed to visit the areas to check the sanitation situation.

According to other details, Central District shifted 17,909 thousand tons, Eastern District 17,125 thousand tons, Western District 20,077 thousand tons, Southern District 17,558 thousand tons, District Korangi 2,894 thousand tons and Malir 5,782 thousand tons of garbage to the landfill sites.
