Pay and allowances of 213 ghost employees working in District Health Authorities across the Punjab must be stopped (SSH) forthwith to avoid loss to national exchequer. A letter sent by Special Secretary Health to Accountant General Punjab and all district accounts officers says this. As per the letter there are number of ghost employees in District Health Authorities across the province drawing illegally their salaries on the one or other pretext.
In order to avoid financial burden of ghost employees on public exchequer, the competent authority has desired that salaries of ghost employees suspended from active pay roll on the charges which include with drawl of salaries after retirement, illegal withndrawl of stipend by house officers as no biometric record/attendance report available, illegal reimbursement of salaries from more than one health facility at a time through different CNICs, with drawl of salaries from the accounts of dead employees , absence from duty since long , working on general duty at different health facilities with out approval of competent authority.
