Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the constitution and laws have been made for the benefit of the people all over the world but for the last 50 years the people of urban areas of Sindh have been exploited their rights always violated. The Sindh government has pushed the urban areas of Sindh into backwardness as per the plan. He was addressing a press conference at MQM-P headquarters in Bahadurabad on Thursday. On the occasion, Deputy Convener Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Member Coordinating Committee and Federal Minister Syed Aminul Haq and others were also present. Siddiqui further said that the biased government of Sindh is inciting bias in Sindh under a well thought out plan, through the Sindh Public Service Commission. 151 officers have been appointed in the Commission, not a single from Urdu speaking community. “Thus making it the Sindhi Public Service Commission.” The PPP has been ruling Sindh for the last 13 years, but Karachi is in a state of disarray; it has become a city of more than 3 Crores which provides 70% revenue to federal government and 90% to Sindh, he asserted , adding that the Supreme Court has ruled on various issues of the province through self-notices. “ We should also take note of the excesses that may have taken place. We went to the Supreme Court with our reservations before the start of the census, which was later confirmed, but no one listened to our request. In the current census, half of the population of urban areas of Sindh, especially Karachi, has not been counted. If it has been decided to reduce the population of urban areas of Sindh, tell us then.” The MQM-P leader went on, “I urge Justice Sahib to issue such a decision so that the people of urban areas also consider as a blessing. Patriotic citizens of Pakistan though they pay taxes, they are still tolerating all kinds of excesses.” Siddiqui accused the Sindh government of moving ventilators from Hyderabad hospitals to Larkana.
