Special Courts for special persons historic step of Sindh govt: Qasim

Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar has said that the provincial government with the concurrence of the Chief Justice High Court Sindh and after approval of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has established Special Courts for persons with disabilities to try the offences under sub-section (1) of Section 33 of “ The Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act 2018” in each district of the province.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, while terming the terming the establishing of Special Courts for special persons, a historic move, has expressed his hope that it will help reduce the problems of the persons with disabilities and hopefully they will get justice at their door steps.
He said that his department and the officers of the DEPD did play their due role in establishing special courts and worked hard for the purpose and fully deserved of appreciation.
He said, “DEPD has already taken many steps such as issuance of special CNICs and disability certificates to special persons, implementation of five percent job quota for special persons in public and private sector and construction of ramps and special washrooms in public and private buildings for the welfare of special persons.”
Special Assistant to CM Sindh said that gradually things were getting better for special persons and that was a great matter of relief.
He said that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah were taking keen interest in bringing positive change in the lives of the special persons.—INP
