Six labourers from Kulgam die in Himachal road accident, several wounded

Six labourers from Waltangoo area of Kund in Kulgam district of occupied Jammu and Kashmir were killed and many sustained injuries when their vehicle fell into a gorge near Sunni in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh State in India on Monday.

The mishap took place in Kararghat, about 35 km from Shimla, when the driver of the ill-fated pickup truck lost control of the vehicle. Six labourers died on the spot while the injured are undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH). The deceased were identified as Farid (24), Gulab (43), Sahbir (19), Talib (23), Gulzar (30), and Mustak (30), Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi told the media.
The injured included Ranjit, who was driving the vehicle, Aslam, Talib Hussain, Akash Kumar, Ajay Thakur, and Manjoor, the police official said. —KMS
