Sindh to cancel plots without industries in six months

Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Jam IkramullahDharejo, has announced a strict new directive aimed at boosting industrial development across Sindh. Speaking to the media from his office, Dharejo stated that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has instructed that industrial zone be created in every district to combat unemployment. As part of this initiative, any plot allocated in these zones that does not have an industry set up within six months will be reclaimed by the government.

This statement was made following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Sindh Small Industries Corporation and the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund. The ceremony, held at Dharejo’s office, saw the MoU signed by MD Sarwat Faheem of the Sindh Small Industries Corporation and CEO KhizrPervaiz of the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund. Key figures present at the event included Secretary of Industries and Commerce Muhammad YasinShar Baloch, MD Site Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Secretary of the Investment Department Raja KhurramShahzad Umar, Secretary of Information and Technology Noor Ahmed Samoo, and Secretary of Agriculture Rafiq Ahmed Barro, among others.

During the ceremony, Dharejo emphasized that the goal of the MoU is to generate employment within the province. The collaboration between these departments is expected to foster the growth of small-scale industries. He highlighted the urgent need to establish agro-based industries, particularly in the Larkana Industrial Zone. Additionally, he assured that loans will be awarded to industrialists based on merit, with transparency being a top priority.

Women entrepreneurs will be given special consideration in the loan process. Dharejo reiterated the government’s commitment to developing the interior regions of Sindh, urging investors to set up as many industries as possible. He firmly stated that any plot left unused for six months would be reclaimed, reinforcing the government’s resolve to promote rapid industrialization in the province.
