Sindh government has enforced Section 144 across the province, implementing a series of restrictions, including a ban on motorcycle double riding (pillion riding) on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. The Sindh Home Department issued a notification detailing these measures. The notification states that carrying licensed firearms in public is prohibited during Muharram, with exceptions only for law enforcement agencies. Additionally, gatherings of more than five people outside of religious congregations and Imam Bargahs are banned. The display of films in hotels and public places are also prohibited.

The pillion riding ban exempts women, children under 12, senior citizens, journalists, and law enforcement officials. Further restrictions under the Sindh Sound System Act 2015 include the misuse of loudspeakers and the operation of drones during Muharram processions and gatherings. The Home Department also prohibits unauthorized processions, gatherings, and Tazia processions, along with the publication, creation, or delivery of hate speech and materials.
