These remarks were made during the inauguration of Pakistan’s first private charging station for electric vehicles in Karachi.
Syed NasirHussain Shah highlighted the Sindh Government’s commitment to promoting public-private partnerships and offering comprehensive support to investors across various sectors in the province. He stressed the imperative of transitioning towards green energy and solarization in response to escalating environmental concerns and rising temperatures.
Shah advocated for the installation of similar charging stations throughout the province, including provisions for electric motorcycles. Furthermore, he proposed introducing electric motorcycles for government employees and journalists, along with the installation of solar units at institutions like the Karachi Press Club. Addressing safety concerns in the energy sector, Shah emphasized the importance of safeguarding the lives and health of labor-intensive miners. Syed NasirHussain Shah, the Provincial Minister for Energy, Development, and Planning warned of severe consequences, including lease cancellations, for companies failing to implement adequate safety measures. Shah also highlighted ongoing efforts to accelerate and complete development schemes under the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Chief Minister.
Regarding electricity consumers, Shah mentioned ongoing discussions with the federation to address issues related to digital meter provision. NasirHussain Shah announced plans to allocate special funds for establishing solar parks in the upcoming budget, with provisions for electricity consumers in various consumption brackets. Shah stressed the need for a business-friendly policy environment, emphasizing the importance of supporting the business community to enhance economic stability and growth.
Minister NasirHussain Shah reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting local production of electronic motorcycles and cars, as well as providing relief to the common man in the upcoming budget. He assured that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s promise of free electricity, as outlined in the manifesto, would be fulfilled through concrete steps and initiatives.
