The Sindh Department of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control is set to petition the Supreme Court for revenue enhancement and tax mechanism innovation, aiming to recover 180 billion rupees deposited as bank guarantees.
Led by Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon, a high-level meeting in Karachi outlined plans to introduce modern vehicle registration procedures and strengthen infrastructure. Measures include establishing registration counters at ports, upgrading department offices, and enhancing checkpoint systems. Additionally, initiatives to combat drug smuggling were emphasized, with plans for legislation facilitating vehicle transfers and intensified anti-narcotics operations. Memon underscored the importance of joint efforts with law enforcement to combat drug trafficking, labeling drug dealers as societal adversaries.
