In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, shutdown was observed in many parts of Jammu on Monday in protest against the eviction of Muslims from their lands by the Modi regime in the region.

The strike was observed in Sunjwan, Bathindi and Malik Market areas, which are Muslim populated areas of Jammu. Hundreds of families have been given notice for evacuation of their lands in the city and suburbs on one pretext or another.

Despite rain and snowfall, people came out of their houses in many localities and staged protest against the brutal drive. Shops and other business establishments remained closed in the areas. People gathered at Nawabad area of Sunjwan in Jammu protested against the eviction notices.

Pertinently, the local setup run directly by Delhi regime has ordered the deputy commissioners to ensure a hundred per cent removal of eviction in the name of “encroachments” by tomorrow (Tuesday).—KMS
