Unidentified gunmen fired shots at the residence of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Rasheed in Lyari on Thursday morning.
The Sindh Assembly MPA and his family members remained safe during the incident as police after reached after receiving information about the incident.
Rasheed said that according to eyewitnesses two suspects on a motorcycle opened fire at his residence and fled.
He ruled out any threats to him and claimed the attack was to pressurise him for raising his voice against corruption and basic rights. He vowed that such cowardly attacks cannot deter him from serving the masses.
Police have recovered shells of the bullet fired and further investigation is underway.
