SHOs warned torture in police stations won’t be tolerated

District Police Officer Hafizabad Rai Mazhar Iqbal has warned SHOs of police station that illegal confinement of people and torture in police stations will not be tolerated at all and strict department and legal action will be taken against those who would found to violate the law while SHOs do not need to permission for registering FIRs and all SHOs would ensure timely registration of FIRs without any delay. He issued these directions while surprisingly visiting Police Station Sukheki Mandi.

DPO inspected record, lock up, front desk, barracks of constables and other areas of the police station. He asked questions from accused in lock up regarding provision of basic facilities in the lock up. Taking notice of closure of CCVT Cameras, DPO served showcause notice to Muharar police station and directed the SHO to make functional all CCTV cameras without any delay. Rai Mazhar Iqbal also directed the SHOs to make effective roads patrolling during fogy season and enhance security of all important government installations, worship places and other sensitive installations.
