Services of DG Rescue 1122 regularised after 17 years

After 17 years of public service finally the services of the Director-General Punjab Emergency Service Dr Rizwan Naseer has been regularized by the Punjab Government w.e.f 17th March 2021.

The notification was issued consequent upon the approval by the Punjab Cabinet in accordance with the Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Amendment Act 2021.

All Head of Wings from Emergency Services Headquarters, and Emergency Services Academy along with their staff warmly welcomed DG Rescue and congratulated him.

The Spokesperson of the Service Mr Farooq Ahmad said that Dr Rizwan Naseer is the founder of modern emergency services in Pakistan. He established the first modern Ambulance, Fire & Rescue Services in Pakistan.

The Emergency Service started from scratch with 200 rescuers and 14 ambulances from Lahore is now the leading Emergency Service of South Asia with over 14,000 personnel with the Rescue Stations in all Tehsil of Punjab to provide the right to emergency care to all citizens without any discrimination.

He further briefed about the contribution of DG Rescue and said Rescue Ambulance Service has rescued over 9.4 million helpless victims of road traffic crashes and different emergencies, Rescue Fire Service established in 2007 has saved losses worth over Rs.500 billion by providing improved response and professional firefighting in over 165,000 fire incidents.

First Motorbike Rescue Service (MAS) was also established by him which has responded to over 740,000 emergencies with an average response time of 4 minutes

He also accepted the challenge of organizing the Patient Transfer after it was handed over to Rescue 1122 by the Health Department and has shifted over 900,000 patients from primary healthcare facility to specialized healthcare facilities.

He also established the Emergency Services Academy in order to ensure sustainable human resource development of long-neglected emergency personnel and up till now over 20,000 emergency personnel of all provinces of Pakistan.

The spokesperson further said that under the visionary leadership of Dr Rizwan Pakistan Rescue Team of Emergency Services Academy also became the first United Nations INSARAG Certified Team in South Asia is an honour for Pakistan.
