SBCA grants licenses to new builders, professionals

The Licensing Committee for Professionals of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) approved the issuance of new licenses to builders and professionals based on their qualifications and interviews. The meeting, held at the SBCA headquarters, was attended by Additional Director General Benish Shabbir and Licensing Section Secretary Syed Mujahid Abbas.

During the interviews, DG Solangi highlighted the significance of the construction industry, noting its critical role in driving numerous related industries and providing a wide range of employment opportunities, from skilled engineers to general laborers. He praised the growth of modern construction practices in Karachi, which align with contemporary needs.

The SBCA has implemented user-friendly measures to facilitate the approval process for public sale projects and individual housing plans, ensuring that both residents and builders benefit from streamlined services. Additional Director General Benish Shabbir congratulated the successful applicants, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal standards and professional responsibilities throughout the construction process. The session concluded with Licensing Director providing detailed information on the approved applicants.

Licenses were granted to 31 builders and developers, 11 architects, 1 structural engineer, and 4 professional engineers. Three applications were rejected due to absenteeism or incomplete documentation. The SBCA remains committed to fostering the development of Karachi’s construction industry by ensuring that all activities adhere to the highest standards and regulations.­
