Chief Engineer of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) Syed Salahuddin Ahmed highlighted the corporation’s enthusiastic participation in observing World Water Day under the theme of ‘Water and Peace’.
Salahuddin Ahmed underscored the significance of the theme, stating that it aims to raise awareness about the critical importance of fresh water and to draw attention to the global water crisis. Ahmed reiterated the corporation’s commitment to modernizing existing treatment plants, expanding distribution networks, implementing smart metering systems, and investing in sewage infrastructure to address these challenges effectively. World Water Day, observed annually by the United Nations since 1993, serves to highlight the importance of access to clean drinking water and to advocate for sustainable water management practices worldwide.
