SaeedGhani, the Minister for Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, and Public Health Engineering in Sindh, reiterated his commitment to press freedom and Karachi’s development. Ghani, representing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), highlighted the party’s history of advocating for media freedom and ensuring journalists’ welfare. He emphasized the importance of peace and security in Karachi and outlined the Sindh government’s efforts to improve the law and order situation across the province.
Addressing concerns about party members involved in criminal activities, Ghani asserted that neither the PPP nor the Sindh government would tolerate any wrongdoing and would take strict action against those found guilty. He expressed gratitude to the Karachi Press Club for their hospitality and praised their role in promoting press freedom. Ghani also acknowledged the challenges faced by journalists and assured them of the government’s support in addressing their issues.
Furthermore, Minister Ghani discussed various development initiatives, including the allocation of plots for Karachi Press Club members and efforts to resolve the issue of additional plots for new members. He highlighted the collaboration between the Sindh government and the press club in addressing journalists’ concerns and improving their working conditions. Regarding public transportation, Ghani mentioned the government’s plans to enhance transport services in Karachi, including the provision of 150 buses. He also assured that efforts were underway to address other issues such as gas and electricity supply.
Ghani emphasized the importance of cooperation between the federal and provincial governments to address various challenges effectively. He acknowledged the need for friendly relations between different political parties and stressed the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring peace and security.
