Pakistani rupee continues depreciating slowly against the US dollar in the interbank market and fell to 178.05 on Tuesday.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the dollar opened at Rs178.04 in the interbank market and closed at Rs178.05 (-0.01). Within the open market, the rupee was traded at 180/181 per dollar.
This is the lowest ever rate of the local unit against the greenback. Overall, the rupee has set 10 all-time lows against the US dollar during the current month, shedding Rs2.33. The rupee has depreciated by Rs20.63 during the ongoing fiscal year 2021-22 and Rs17.90 in the current year 2021.—TLTP
