Rosa Blanca Country Club located on Raiwind Road near Lahore has been sealed on Friday for non-payment of nearly one and a half billion of rupees of commercial fee.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) took action after nothing was paid by the well-known club despite issuance of the final notice .
The 195-kanal country club was sealed by the LDA Chief Town Planning II Azhar Ali, along with staff and police. The LDA officials said the club was asked to pay its dues within 15 days which it failed to do so.
The club was a defaulter of Rs1.41 billion under the head of the commercialisation fee.
The LDA earlier this month had issued a notice to Rosa Blanca Country Club for non-payment of commercialisation fees and was directed to pay the dues. Despite earlier court orders, the club’s management and owners have not deposited any fee. The LDA had warned that in case of non-payment of the commercialisation fee, not only the club will be sealed, purchase and sale of the property will also be banned.
In this regard, the notice issued by the LDA had a clear warning that in case of non-payment, the LDA reserved the right to stop commercial use of the club and file a case against the defaulters.
“Citizens who have booked Rosa Blanca will be responsible for their losses. This notice has been issued by the Town Planning Department 5 of the LDA,” it added.
