EXTREMIST Hindutva mindset under Modi Junta knows no boundaries. Hate is openly being preached and practised in India and the Muslim population is the main victim of it. Each day is bringing more miseries and agony for the Muslim population but the regrettable part is that apart from some condemnation statements, nothing concrete is being done by the world community to stop Modi government from its suppression and oppression.
Advancing its Hindutva agenda, the construction of temple has now been started at the site of historic Babri Mosque in Ayodhya- a sequel of the controversial decision given by the Indian Supreme Court on 9th November last year. This indeed is a direct attack on the religious rights of Indian Muslims and we understand if a Muslim country had done so against any of its minority group, there would have been huge hue and cry on it in the western world. Rather up till now they would have suggested imposing sanctions on the Muslim country. What to complain of the western world as there are certain Muslim countries that have shown least concern over the plight of the Indian Muslims and the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The other day some Muslim countries blocked Pakistan’s move to set up an informal group of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) envoys at the United Nations on Islamophobia. These Muslim countries should not be mistaken and live in the fool’s paradise as the rising tide of militant Hindutva will also not spare them. One saw its manifestation in the UAE a couple of months back when some Indian Hindu nationals made some Islamophobic comments not even sparing the host country. Time has come that the OIC take the practical steps to protect the Muslim population in India as the developments pertaining to Babri Mosque, discriminatory legislation, targeted killing of Muslims in Delhi in February, mob lynching by cow vigilantes and sinister schemes like Corona Jihad, Ghar Wapsi etc., as also pointed out by our foreign office spokesperson, are vivid illustrations of how Muslims are being marginalized, dispossessed, demonized and subjected to senseless violence. All the Muslim countries need to speak with one voice and consider taking punitive actions such as cutting off diplomatic and trade ties with India until and unless it stops atrocities against Muslims.
