Revival, restoration of PSM Govt’s priority: Razak

The Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industries & Production and Investment chaired a meeting with the Board of Directors of Pakistan Steel Mills, Karachi.
The Adviser was briefed on the issues being faced by PSM and the progress made regarding its revival. The Adviser urged the need to revive Pakistan Steel Mills as the national exchequer has already faced huge losses due to the condition of PSM and a serious effort is required to ensure that PSM operates as an efficient and fruitful organization.
He stressed upon the need to operate through a transparent process that would encourage quality competition and would ensure that the most viable option is utilized for revival of PSM. The Adviser again stressed upon the fact that he is willing to welcome everyone in this effort and encouraged all stake holders to provide options in the greater national interest. He reiterated that this will be a transparent and inclusive process.
Meanwhile, Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile Industry and Production Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood chaired a meeting on the performance of State Life.
SLIC management apprised the Advisor about the situation arising after the upgradation of Sales Officer cadre as Sales Manager and the steps taken to motivate the marketing force. The Advisor was also briefed about the recent MOUS signed with leading banks to provide insurance through these Banks. Furthermore, the management presented its plan to launch Takkaful for next month and to use modern e insurance techniques to attract and facilitate SLIC customers.
