Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination has taken serious cognizance of press news stating termination of contracts of Pakistani doctors in Saudi Arabia.
The minister has directed the concerned staff to immediately contact relevant Saudi authorities inquiring about the authenticity of the news item and seeking further details of the issue. Once the true nature and extent of the problem is verified appropriate remedial actions will be taken through appropriate Government-to-Government channels to provide maximum relief to the effected health professionals.
It is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to provide all out support to Pakistani diaspora in any foreign country in order to protect their due rights and resolve there genuine problems.
It is pertinent to mention here that every country (including Pakistan) has its own medical regulators who implement a set of rules to regulate the medical practice in their respective country, to ensure safety and standards of health care. There is a system of mutual recognition of medical qualification between countries.—PR
