In its monthly meeting, the HamdardShura highlighted the value of prayers and good deeds and held though they were rewarding throughout the year, but in the holy month of Ramazan their reward is many times higher. As Ramazan is around the corner, every Muslim should make a promise to himself to cultivate the habit of doing good deeds and spend maximum time in prayers, said the Shura in its monthly meeting.

Speaker of the HamdardShura and former Chairman of the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBI&SE) Prof NiazIrfan while addressing the members of the HamdardShura said Ramazan-ul-Mubarak was in fact a month of training and brings discipline in our lives.

This training and discipline and keenness to help and share with our brothers and sisters is something that keeps us on the path of ‘goodness’ not only in this month but also during the remaining eleven months.

This is the month that reminds the Muslims all over the world to quit the path of sin, arrogance and deception. On the other hand, it urges them to come back to the way of humility, piety and generosity towards the less-privileged.

The learned professor further said that during the month of Ramazan, Allah provides the faithful a rare opportunity to earn blessings and purge their hearts and souls of greediness, lust for wealth and power.

While addressing the occasion, the National President of the HamdardShuraMsSadir Rashid said fasting was a great means of purifying the soul and feeling for the poor and under-privileged. The Muslims learn to live a life of piety and faithfulness. She hoped the Muslims would make the fullest use of this holy month and bring discipline and simplicity in their lives. Fasting, she said, is in fact a complete way of life that not only keeps the Muslims healthy by not stuffing their stomach during the daytime but also creates in them sympathy for their brother Muslims and those who cannot afford.

The other noted intellectuals and scholars who spoke on the occasion included Prof Zahid Ali Qureshi, Islam-ud-Din Qureshi, Hakim Bashir Bherwi, NaeemAkramQureshi, DrRiaz Ahmed, DrMehmood-ur-Rehman, EngrMuzaffarIqbal, ImtiazHaider, QaziArifHussain Advocate, TanvirNusrat and AnjumKhokhar. They highlighted the blessings of the month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. Special prayers were held on the occasion for the Muslims in Palestine.
