ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rains, snowfall and isolated hailstorms for Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations in Pakistan on Saturday and Sunday.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely enter western parts of the country on Saturday night. It may grip most upper parts of the country on Sunday.
Under these conditions, moderate to heavy rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat, Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Haveli, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur on Saturday and Sunday with occasional gaps. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.
Murree’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, freezing weather prevailed in Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations in Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
Skardu remained the coldest place where the mercury dropped 06 C below freezing. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 68 per cent.
In Murree, minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C. Relative humidity during the morning was 54 per cent.
